A 1950's photograph of the Armstrong Siddeley Mark III Deerhound

Deerhound MK III in 1954

This photograph of the tired looking, stripped down, Deerhound Mark III is dated 8th July 1954.  The date ties
in with the clear recollection of several Armstrong Siddeley engineers who saw it at about this time.   The engine
seems to have survived into the late 1970's, when it was seen dumped in the back of a skip.  This picture would
have been taken with the engine mounted vertically. For ease of viewing it is shown here in a horizontal position.
