Stefan took his Masters' Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Gdansk University in the early 70's and gained extensive experience in that field over many years, both in England and in California, USA.  He is a co-inventor in the field of medical instruments with Letters Patent issued to his name.  Called to the Bar by Middle Temple in March 1998, he served his pupillage at Chambers of Christopher Morcom QC under Ashley Roughton and Roger Wyand (now QC), and in the Intellectual Property Department of Collyer-Bristow, Solicitors, under Christopher-Rennie Smith (now a member of the Boards of Appeal of the European Patent Office).

Stefan's outside interests include Photography, Classical Music, International Current Affairs, Tennis, Sailing, and - time permitting - Ocean Kayaking.

Languages include Polish and basic Russian.
